Melanie Punter
Melanie Punter is Associate Professor of Double Bass at FSU. She is a graduate of the Manhattan School of Music. As a member of the Julliard MAP faculty, she coached chamber music and bass ensembles and taught double bass. Ms. Punter is also on the faculty of the Sewanee Summer Music Festival. She has performed with the American Symphony Orchestra, the Opera Orchestra of New York, Joffrey Ballet, New York City Ballet and the American Ballet Theatre and the Orchestra of St. Luke's. She is active in several chamber music groups including the Atlanta Baroque Orchestra, Boston Baroque, Apollo and Clarion ensembles on period instruments. Ms. Punter is a member of the FSU faculty ensemble, Baroque Southeast. Presently she is the principal bassist of the Tallahassee Symphony and the Dance Theatre of Harlem Orchestras.

Matthew Dunlap is currently pursuing his Doctoral degree in Guitar Performance from FSU. He received his Master of Music degree in Guitar Performance from The Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins in 2002. He received his Bachelor of Music degree in guitar performance from Kennesaw State University in 2000. He has received several awards including first prize winner in the Florida MTNA Wurlitzer Collegiate Competition, top prize winner in the Colombus Guitar Symposium Competition and the first prize winner in the graduate divsion of the Atlanta Music Club. He has been teaching private, group and ensemble lessons since 1995. In the summer of 2004 and 2005 he studied at the Academia Musicale Chigiani with Oscar Ghiglia in Sienna, Italy. He as performed in masterclasses for Christopher Parkening, Eduardo Fernandez, David Leisner, Sharon Isbin, Roberto Aussel, Ignacio Rodes, Manuel Barrueco, Odair Assad and Paul Galbraith. Matt has performed concerts throughout the USA, Costa Rica and Italy.

Ryan Kasten received his Bachelors of Music Pipe Organ Performance degree from Southeast Missouri State University in 1996. He received his Master of Music Pipe Organ Performance degree from The University of Nebraska in 1998. He received his Post-Graduate Choral Conducting degree from Northern Illionis University in 2002. He is currently pursuing his Master of Music degrees in Pipr Organ Performance and Choral Conducting at Florida State. Ryan has been teaching students of all ages since 1992. Kim Jones
Kim Jones holds a BM and Artist Diploma from McGill University and a MMusic degree from the Eastman School of Music. Formerly a member of the Rochester Philharmonia Orchestra, she now serves as principal cellist with the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra, performs frequently with the Tallahassee Bach Parley and Baroque Southeast, and maintains a private studio.

Co-Director, Tallahassee Fiddlers, has earned a degree in creative writing from FSU. Since graduating college, Mickey has been heavily involved in bluegrass and new-acoustic music both regionally and nationally. His unique approaches to teaching, performing, and promoting music have been featured in the May 2008 issue of Flatpicking Guitar Magazine and his newest instrumental album is being released as a digital download on David Grisman’s Grammy nominated record label, Acoustic Disc. Since 2004, Mickey has continually been invited back to perform and teach at almost every major new-grass festival in the state; MagnoliaFest, Suwannee Springfest, Gamble Rogers Folk Festival, Riverhawk Music Festival, and the Florida Folk Festival to name a few. Mickey has also been a judge for the North Florida Bluegrass Association’s bluegrass contests.

Steve Hodges
Steve Hodges is an ex-professional musician who has been playing guitar for more than 32 years,
and mandolin and tenor banjo for the last 14 years. Playing in groups ranging from
acoustic duos to theater pit orchestras to high school and college jazz bands to
five-piece show bands, his musical career spans a variety of styles and idioms,
including folk, bluegrass, old-time, swing, R&B, rock, country, and blues. His
musical interests have been dominated over the last decade by Celtic music, but
always with an ear towards danceability, lilt, and sensitivity to this ancient tradition.
Steve has played in formal and informal settings with a number of notables in the roots
music world, including Larry and Wyatt Rice, Wayne Martin, Velma Frye, Vassar Clements,
Grey Larsen, Paddy League, James Kelly, members of the band Dervish, Liz Knowles
and Kieran Kane, and a variety of fine local musicians, including Jon Copps,
Charles Engstrom, Michael Callan, David Kuncicky, May Monroe, Bob Langston,
Thom Henderson, Ed Mellon, Burt Wolff, Jim Cox, Lynnsey Smith, Ira Kohn,
Gordon and Jane Scott, and many others in many different venues over the last
15 years. Steve plays guitar and mandolin and sings on the commercial recording
"Making Smoke for Jacksonville," which is available through Amazon.com.
Steve has recently studied guitar with Tony McManus, the noted Scottish fingerstyle
guitarist, Robin Bullock, another fine American Celtic fingerstylist, mandolin
with Mike Compton, who played with the Nashville Bluegrass Band and John Hartford,
and mandolin and tenor banjo with Claudine Langille, who played with the well-known
Irish trad group Touchstone.
Steve has taught guitar and mandolin to both children and adults in individual lessons
and in workshops at festivals and other gatherings. He is available for private lessons
in his beautiful old home conveniently located in mid-town Tallahassee.

Trained in Brazil, Rosa has been performing since the age of 12. Rosa wrote her first composition at the age of 16, and received a scholorship to further her music studies in Europe, France, Portugal and Italy. Rosa holds a Bachelor of Music degree and has been instructing piano since 1956. Rosa has broadened her studies to become a music therapist and a Reiki Master. For many years, Rosa has been performing in one of Sao Paulo's famous night clubs, in weddings, receptions, and as a guest musicican at the municipal theatre. Rosa has also been performing in Tallahassee for First Bapttist Church, Steinway Piano Gallery and Chez Pierre.

Brenda Grau made her professional theatre debut at the age of fifteen as Maria in West Side Story; other roles include Laurey from Oklahoma!, Tuptim in The King and I, and the title role in Cinderella. She received the Ruth Eckerd Hall Classical Voice Award in 2001. Brenda is currently completing her senior year at the Florida State University for B.M. in voice performance, the B.A. in English and a minor in French. She has performed with the Florida Stae Opera, first as Dritter Knabe in Die Zauberflote. She then performed the role of Juno in Semele, directed by Anthony Rooley, of which she can be heard on the worldwide premiere complete recording of the opera. She has had coaching from Evelyn Tubb, and has attended the master classes of Frederica von Stade and Martin Katz. She has studied piano with Jane Stevenson, and voice with Roberta Moger, Jerrold Pope, and Cecily Nall.

Dan Herbert holds bachelor's and master's degrees in piano performance from the State University of New York at Fredonia and Arizona State Universities. He is the recipient of numerous awards including the Elizabeth S. Carylon Piano Scholarship and the Victoria Bohlen Memorial Composition award. Michelle Smith has been teaching since 1993. She attended High School at Douglas Anderson School of the Arts in Jacksonville and received her Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance from William Carey College in Hattiesburg, MS in 1996. Peter Marvin has been teaching since 1996. Peter has studied and worked with some of the top jazz performers in the country. He has constantly been involved in jazz, orchestral and choral ensembles as a performer or conductor. He has taught in several school systems throughout Florida as a classroom instructor and as a clinician. He recievd his Bachelorate Degree form FSU in 2003. Peter has performed throughout the united States and Europe and is a comissioned composer and arranger. Colleen Manseau has been teaching violin and viola since 1993. She has experience teaching students of all ages. She has worked in kindergarten and elementary music programs. She completed her Bachelor degree in 2001, her Masters degree in 2002 and is currently working towards her doctorate degree at Florida State. Colleen has performed with various orchestras including; the Detroit Civic Orchestra, the Albany Symphony Orchestra, the Valdosta Symphony Orchestra and the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra. She was also a features soloist with the San Francisco State University Orchestra. She also is the Director of the Symphonic Strings of the Tallahssee Youth Orchestra.

Pepina Dell' Olio was born in Belgrade in 1975.
She has two Master's degrees in a violin performance, the first from the Georgia State University,
Atlanta, GA (2004) and the second from the Belgrade Music Academy, Serbia (2001). She is a Doctoral
student in violin performance at the Florida State University.
Pepina was one of the winners of The Atlanta Music Club award (2002) and a winner of the Honor's
Recital at the Georgia State University. She participated in the Master class of Midori (2002)
and Zue Wei (2001).
Pepina is available for weddings and parties, both as a soloist
and in a chamber group. She gives violin and viola lessons to students of all ages and levels. She uses the Suzuki violin
and viola teaching method. Sha has her own studio and a flexible schedule charging $20 for a half an hour,
$25 for 45 minutes and $30 for a one hour lesson.

Valerie Prebys Arsenault, DM
Valerie Arsenault is a principal player and soloist with the Atlanta Baroque Orchestra, a member of the Tallahassee Symphony and has performed and recorded with the Apollo Ensemble (NY) and Apollo's Fire. She has earned degrees from the New England Conservatory (BM), the Indiana University School of Music (MM, Early Music), and the Florida State University College of Music (DM). As Visiting Assistant Professor at Florida State University she teaches violin and directs the Baroque Ensemble (on period instruments) and the Irish Ensemble. She also maintains a thriving private violin studio of students of all ages at Cavatina Music Studios. In their spare time she and her husband Brian are avid Irish fiddlers, and their band, The Ned Devines, recently released their first CD "Out Late" as a benefit for the Tallahassee Homeless Shelter.

Colleen Manseau has been teaching violin and viola since 1993. She has experience teaching students of all ages. She has worked in kindergarten and elementary music programs. She completed her Bachelor degree in 2001, her Masters degree in 2002 and is currently working towards her doctorate degree at Florida State. Colleen has performed with various orchestras including; the Detroit Civic Orchestra, the Albany Symphony Orchestra, the Valdosta Symphony Orchestra and the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra. She was also a features soloist with the San Francisco State University Orchestra. She also is the Director of the Symphonic Strings of the Tallahssee Youth Orchestra.

David Mason received his Bachelor of Music degree in Guitar Performance from Stetson University in 1995. David has been teaching for since 1992 and has completed coursework towards his Master of Music degree in Guitar Performance from Florida State. He has received serval awards including Most Promising guitarist in 1990 and 1992 and Young Artist in 1992. He performed at the White House as a member of The University of Southern Mississippi's Guitar Ensemble. David is a founding member of the Tallahassee Classical Guitar Society and lead guitarist and singer of the band, The Moguls.

Betsy Masterson
Betsy Masterson moved to Tallahassee from Gainesville, Florida this past summer (2005)
and is currently establishing a private violin studio here. She has over
30 years of teaching experience, and for the past ten years, has taught
using the Suzuki method and philosophy. Her Suzuki teacher training included
a 2-year apprenticeship with Kathleen Spring, in addition to numerous summer
courses and workshops.
Mrs. Masterson received her undergraduate musical training
at Boston University and Colorado State University, and she holds a Master of
Arts degree in Violin Performance from Washington State University. Her principal
teachers were Roman Totenberg, Willfred Schwartz and Elisa Barston (violin),
and Eugene Lehner (chamber music). Mrs. Masterson is currently a member of
the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra, and she previously performed with orchestras
in Colorado, Washington state, and Gainesville, Florida, often in the role of
concertmaster. She has also performed every summer for the past eleven years
with the Oregon Coast Summer Music Festival Orchestra.
Mrs. Masterson
previously held teaching positions at Whitman College and Walla Walla College,
where she taught studio violin, in addition to maintaining active private
violin studios in Colorado, Washington state, and (Gainesville) Florida.
Mrs. Masterson is married to Stephen Masterson, an attorney in Tallahassee.

Violinist Shelley Mathews is a resident artist in the Teatime Concert Series, www.teatimeconcertseries.com, and appears in each of the four programs. Ms. Mathews began her studies at the age of four in the Washington DC Metropolitan Area and studied with Catherine Stewart upon entering conservatory, with whom she was a recipient of prizes in the Brewster and Hood memorial competitions. She is a recent graduate of the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY where she studied for four years with Charles Castleman. Other teachers there include members of the Ying Quartet in chamber music study. She is a recipient of the Catherine Filene Shouse Scholarship at Wolf Trap, Maryland Distinguished Scholars Talent in the Arts Scholarship, and the Howard Hanson Scholarship. Summer festivals include Eastern Music Festival, Heifetz International Music Institute (studies with Yuri Mazurkevich), and the National Orchestral Institute (conductors Gerard Schwartz, Roberto Minczuk, and David Robertson). A recent Florida resident, Ms. Mathews plays with the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra and the Eolina String Quartet. Currently Ms. Mathews studies with Beth Newdome and is also pursuing a Master’s degree in violin performance.

Pepina Dell' Olio
Pepina Dell' Olio was born in Belgrade in 1975.
She has two Master's degrees in a violin performance, the first from the Georgia State University,
Atlanta, GA (2004) and the second from the Belgrade Music Academy, Serbia (2001). She is a Doctoral
student in violin performance at the Florida State University.
Pepina was one of the winners of The Atlanta Music Club award (2002) and a winner of the Honor's
Recital at the Georgia State University. She participated in the Master class of Midori (2002)
and Zue Wei (2001).
Pepina is available for weddings and parties, both as a soloist
and in a chamber group. She gives violin and viola lessons to students of all ages and levels. She uses the Suzuki violin
and viola teaching method. Sha has her own studio and a flexible schedule charging $20 for a half an hour,
$25 for 45 minutes and $30 for a one hour lesson.

Chris Condon received his Bachelors in Music Performance from The University of Southern Mississippi in 2005. He is currently pursuing his Masters in Music Performance at Flrida State. Chris has performed with various groups including The Mississippi Symphony Orchestra, The Italian Army Band and appeared on The Good Morning Mississippi show. He has won several awards including The University of Southern Mississippi Band Concerto Competition, the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra Young Artist Competition and the Columbus College Concerto Competition.

Peter Marvin
Peter Marvin has been teaching since 1996. Peter has studied and worked with some of the top jazz performers in the country. He has constantly been involved in jazz, orchestral and choral ensembles as a performer or conductor. He has taught in several school systems throughout Florida as a classroom instructor and as a clinician. He recievd his Bachelorate Degree form FSU in 2003. Peter has performed throughout the united States and Europe and is a comissioned composer and arranger. Peter is also the Percussion Instructor at Leon High School and Director of Music Ministries and Choir Director at Gray United Methodist Church.
