Pink Shoelaces

Pink Shoelaces
The Pink Shoelaces (PSL) is a hot country/rock band located in the Big Bend of the Florida Gulf Coast. The Pink Shoelaces began as a brother/sister acoustic duo with Jay and Shannon Egler and has expanded to include drummer Patrick Lima, violinist Charlotte Lewis and bassist and tenor banjo player Tony Rizzo. The Pink Shoelaces recorded their very first CD at the beginning of January 2007. The newly released CD, If I Could Fly, contains eleven original songs with a wide variety of musical styles that should appeal to a variety of music lovers. Eight songs on the CD were written by Jay Egler and three songs were co-written by Jay and Shannon.
Jay Egler's incredible guitar skills set the backdrop for PSL. Jay got his first guitar when he was 12 years old along with a book of the top 100 rock songs of all time. Soon Jay began writing his own songs with a style that encompasses driving rock, country, bluegrass and beautiful ballads. Jay came up with the name of the band because he really does wear Pink Shoelaces!
Besides performing beautiful solos, Shannon provides flawless vocal harmonies. At the age of eight, Shannon was wowing audiences at campgrounds and festivals. When singing SheDaisy's Come Home Soon Shannon frequently brings tears to the eyes of listeners and then energizes the audience by following up with Gretchen Wilson's Redneck Woman. Shannon is frequently invited to sing the National Anthem at various community events.
Patrick's (Big Pat) drumming talents started when he was 8 years old. Now 17 years of age, Patrick continues to enjoy playing the drums (rock and country) as the "groove regulator" for Pink Shoelaces. Like Jay, Patrick is a self-taught drummer having previously owned two drums sets and currently owns an 11 piece Pearl Session Custom Maple set. Patrick really gets into performing on-stage as the heart beat of the band.
Tony Rizzo plays the tenor banjo and bass for the PSL. He has played drums and bass for more than 35 years in many different bands. Tony was the drummer for the Scottish Thistle Band for 20 years in Los Angeles. Currently he is also the drummer and bass player for Crawfordville's High Mileage Band. Tony, the adult in the band, is impressed with the high degree of musical proficiency and professionalism exhibited by fellow PSL members.
Charlotte Lewis adds some fancy fiddle riffs to the PSL sound. Charlotte is a champion fiddle player who competes in Florida, Georgia, and Alabama in both classical and bluegrass competitions! She is a member of the Tallahassee Symphony Youth Orchestra and the Tallahassee Fiddlers. Charlotte has been playing the violin/fiddle since she was 3 ½ years old.
Together, these five talented musicians make up The Pink Shoelaces. Dell Suggs, well-known regional saltwater entertainer, writes: "PSL nearly stole the show at the Winter Festival! Don't be fooled"these aren't ‘kids'"these are seasoned performers disguised as teenagers.

Beethoven’s Revenge
Featuring:
Steve Masterson, Violin
Erin E. Shepherd, Cello
Steve Masterson
A medical malpractice defense lawyer by trade, Steve spends a great deal of time on the road, traveling to and from trials, depositions, and other legal tasks. His idea of relaxing is popping the cork on a vintage bottle of merlot and listening to Brahms. Who are we kidding.. there is no time to relax! When he’s not working, he’s rushing to community orchestra rehearsals or composing notes (of the non-musical kind) for the next concert event. Steve has two grown daughters, one of whom inherited a wealth of musical talent and follows in her father’s footsteps with the violin.
Erin E. Shepherd
If anyone can be accused of having too many interests, it would be Erin. In her spare time, she works at her mother's second-hand store (ok " here's a quick plug, mom: GoodFinds " 3100 S. Adams Street, South of the Main Post Office in Tallahassee), rescues animals in need, or trains for marathons. While she would rather become an international cello superstar and travel the globe, her bread & butter is in association management, where she specializes in website & database maintenance, and performs a wide array of member services on any given day. Her one true joy, though, comes from music and she finds it hard to turn down any opportunity to perform " afterall, music is meant to be shared!

Four former members of the Tallahassee power-bluegrass band FIFTH GEAR reconvened last year, picking up a new banjoist on the way, to make COW LICK one of the fastest-driving bluegrass bands in town. You can catch us at Shucker's Oyster Bar (that's us making the bikers alternately whoop and weep around the bonfire), as well as various downtown establishments, rural festivals, little known pubs from Wakulla County to south Georgia, anywhere they'll let us set up our brand of bovinian madness - aka Mad Cow Duhzeeze.
Kit Goodner: guitar,
Carrie Hamby: upright bass, vocals,
>David Leporati: mandolin, vocals,
Bobby Cutts: vocals, harmonica,
Dennis Hardin: banjo, dobro, vocals
